So delicious and prepped in less than 5 minutes. Can be eaten fresh or made in advance, eaten for breakfast with yoghurt, flaked almonds or granola, as a mid-afternoon sweet treat or a healthy dessert.
No matter how you serve these spiced baked pears, make sure you keep the skin on, as this is where a lot of the fruit’s nutrients are stored. Pears are a good source of Vitamin C and antioxidants, as well as an excellent source of fibre (approx. 6 grams per serving).
Ingredients
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon honey
2 *ripe pears, cut in half lengthways and cored –*if they are too ripe, they fall apart once baked
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
How to
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C
- In a small saucepan, warm water and honey until honey is dissolved.
- Place pears, flesh side up, in a baking dish and pour over the honey-water. Sprinkle evenly with cinnamon and bake until pears are tender and golden, 15-20 minutes. I also add sultanas as the kids love them.
- Eat warm or keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- This recipe also works well with apples and peaches, try it…
